Meet the Photographer

Kate

I took my first photo when I was 7 years old with my dad. It was my father that introduced me to the world of Black and White Photography. After many years, I came back to photography in 2020 when things changed in my life … I wanted to share my view of the world with everyone and at the same time give myself that creative spark. I didn’t have the money to pay for a camera, so I started using my phone to capture things I saw everyday on my travels.

I have a love for everything I see, my photography I hope is a reflection of my view of the world. I hope that people can relate to my pictures, but everyone has their own view and preferences. Photography is a true passion to enjoy and share with others. Photography is something that has always interested me, I would say that my motivation is both personal and emotional. It’s important to me at this point in my life to have this creative outlet and it’s a wonderful hobby which has allowed me to meet many likeminded and interesting people.

Meet the Photographer

Mondi

Taking my first images with a film camera was a moment of awakening for me. It felt like I was suddenly able to capture emotions, moments, and experiences in a genuinely meaningful way. But why did it take stepping back in time technologically to arrive at this point? Simple: digital photography just didn't give me the love affair I needed with my art form.

Digital photography has made taking photos easier than ever - with the click of a button, you can create an image to capture your memory! But I found the challenge of film-based photography helped me become a better photographer. With limited shots and every photo feeling precious, I really had to think about each shot before pressing that shutter trigger. When transitioning back to digital, these same values stayed with me and catapulted my skills as a photographer even further.
